BWH Radiology Residents and Fellows

BWH radiology residents and fellows can apply to a 2-year evidence-based imaging and improvement research program (‘3+2’) at the Center for Evidence-Based Imaging (CEBI) in conjunction with the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health’s Summer Program in Clinical Effectiveness. This 2-year program combines 12 months of translational and performance improvement research with 12 months of a radiology clinical fellowship in any radiology sub-specialty.

Applicants must be in good standing in their respective programs. Please send letter of Interest, CV (due no later than September 1 of third year of residency), or questions to rlacson@rics.bwh.harvard.edu and ggaviola@partners.org (maximum 1-2 spots available each year on a competitive basis).

Requests will be reviewed by CEBI’s training program committee with final decisions conveyed by October 15 of the year you apply. Residents selected for this program will be required to apply to the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in December of the year before the summer program enrollment. The credits obtained during the summer program account for 1/3 of a Master in Public Health (MPH) at Harvard University.

A typical 2-year curriculum includes:

  1. Year-1 at CEBI
    1. 4th year of residency: July/August (7 weeks) enrollment in the summer program in clinical effectiveness at the Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health. $20k tuition is covered by CEBI.

    3. 80% time at CEBI
  2. Year-2 enrollment in a BWH radiology clinical subspecialty fellowship (following standard application process/timeline for each specialty)
